Ordered this on March 2nd 2024. Received no indication that it was on backorder when placing the order and nothing after placing the order. On March 15th, I sent in a support request about the status of my order and then was notified that it was on backorder and they refunded my Expedited Shipping fee of $15.80. On April 29th I received an email that the order was on the way and it was delivered today May 2nd. Being a complete newb to bitcoin and such, I got this as a desk piece and thought it would be pretty plug and play. The manual/instructions are far from complete. I received everything in the image... the peel away film to protect the plastic casing was very hard to remove, there were no easy tear edges and I broken 3 finger nails trying to remove 5 sides. It comes with 2 micro SD cards and nothing explaining them, do I need 1 or both? Which one goes in the machine? There was also nothing about how to create a bitcoin wallet or that I needed to. I know I needed a Bitcoin address but was clueless how to make it all happen. I also ordered the USB Ethernet Upgrade Adapter hoping it would increase speeds and with or without it, I get a WiFi Signal Strength of 71% regardless of whether I am plugged into my ethernet router or not; as such my hashrate is 282.03. It also came with a 1 OZ Copper Bitcoin, a bunch of labels 2 Dos Bolivares currency bill. I the up side support was helpful, but still left me feeling disheartened with the entire thing and I'm not really sure everything is setup and working properly. Yes, a lot of this has to do with me complete lack of understanding about this bitcoin stuff at all, but, everything is advertised like it is plug and play when you need to know a bit more then the documentation and videos point out to you. I bought this with the hopes of trying it out and then adding the 3 x GekkoScience COMPAC F with Fan Upgrade + Bitcoin Merch® 7-Port USB Hub - COMBO Up to 1.05+TH/s as well, but don't want to wait 2 months for something that might not work as expected. Giving it 2 stars as I got something that works? and support did help out some.

The device I’ve received is not working with neither SD cards nor going through the process of flashing the cards again. The display doesn’t show anything. See below.

Got my Mars Lander v2 with a slight delay of 3 months, which is totally understandable. However, upon receiving it, I found the case broken. The team promptly sent me a new one for free along with a new SD card containing the latest updates. I'm very pleased with the support I received and eager to start mining once I receive the SD card. I'll continue to buy from the store in the future because of the exceptional 10/10 support from the team when I recieve my new SD and and start mining. Despite the delay, I'm happy, patience is key.

The product packaging and overall appearance is really nice but the screen sometimes won’t turn on. When it does turn on it will freeze up within 24 hours.

I had this on my gift list and was excited to have received it. I even ordered an R909 to add to it shortly thereafter. However, after almost 4 weeks of the pain and expense I've endured just to try and keep this "toy" up and running, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone other than someone who enjoys the hassle of trying to make an inferior product operate as expected.

First, the software is simply half-baked and sporadically corrupts when you unplug the unit because there is no shutdown process. The display will stay black after it has been re-powered. Also, it will always get corrupted if you shutdown to remove the MicroSD and modify the "wpa_supplicant.conf" or remove the "Delete..." file to change your IP Address and/or password to a new address and/or password (there is NO OTHER WAY to do it). Again, the display will stay black after it has been re-powered. It will also get corrupted if you try and run it at any frequency above 400 (the default it is shipped with is 440 frequency). And again, the display will go black or just lockup after 30-45 minutes and stay that way (unless you try to re-power it and then it will just stay black). As a side note, the upgraded Bitcoin Merch power supply I purchased didn't make a difference, either . . . although oddly enough, the original power supply for the Mars Lander seems to be providing a more stable environment than the upgrade - go figure. At 400 frequency with the original power supply it will run for 6-7 days and then the screen locks up or simply goes black. With the upgraded power supply it will run about an hour before the lockup or black screen. The ambient room temp is stable at 68F.

Now here's the real kicker, in all cases of the software corruption you will need to re-image the software onto the MicroSD and set up everything all over again! However, good luck getting any help or replacement software. I had to purchase the pre-flashed MicroSD cards and figure this out myself at $20 a pop! I did this after 2 attempts for support and heard nothing back but crickets after 4 days.

PROS:
1) It's cute.
2) It's pretty much plug & play (when it plays).
3) Expandable.

CONS:
1) Over priced.
2) Half-baked software.
3) No support.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
This wouldn't have been on my gift list had I known the deep and dark rabbit hole I was about to fall into. I'll just stick with Futurebit in the future.
