Free firmware tool
Bitaxe, NerdQAxe & Gold Nugget Web Flasher
Install official firmware on your Bitaxe, NerdQAxe or Gold Nugget miner over USB, right from Chrome or Edge. Nothing to download or install.
- Official, unmodified firmware
- Checksum-verified before flashing
- Works on Windows, macOS, Linux & ChromeOS
1 Choose your device
Loading devices…
2 Pick your board version
Bitaxe: the board version is printed on the circuit board (for example 601 or 801) and is also shown in AxeOS under System. NerdQAxe-family miners: pick your exact model. Gold Nugget V3 uses the ESP32-2432S028R board.
3 Connect & flash
- Plug the device into this computer with a data USB cable (some cables are charge-only). For a Bitaxe, keep its main power connected too.
- Click Connect & Flash and pick the device in the pop-up (Bitaxe and NerdQAxe show as USB JTAG/serial debug unit; Gold Nugget usually as USB-SERIAL CH340).
- Not listed? Hold the BOOT button while plugging the cable in, then try again.
- The device restarts and creates its own setup Wi-Fi network (named like Bitaxe_XXXX). Gold Nugget shows the Bitcoin Merch logo first, then a setup screen.
- Join that network on your phone or computer. The setup page opens (or go to 192.168.4.1).
- Enter your Wi-Fi details, pool and Bitcoin address, then save.
Help & FAQ
Which browsers work?
Desktop Chrome, Edge and Opera (version 89 or newer). They support Web Serial, which lets this page talk to your device over USB. Safari, Firefox and mobile browsers don't.
My device doesn't show up in the list
Try a different USB cable (many are charge-only) or another USB port, and hold the BOOT button while plugging in. On Windows, Gold Nugget boards may need the CH340 USB driver.
How do I find my Bitaxe board version?
Look for a 3–4 digit number printed on the board, such as 204, 401, 601, 602 or 801. If your miner still boots, AxeOS shows it on the System page.
I flashed the wrong version / my device won't boot
Nothing is permanently damaged. Hold BOOT while plugging in, pick the correct device and board here, and flash again.
Where does the firmware come from?
Bitaxe firmware is the official, unmodified AxeOS (ESP-Miner) release from the open-source Bitaxe project. NerdQAxe-family firmware is the official release from the open-source ESP-Miner-NerdQAxePlus project. Gold Nugget V3 firmware is published by Bitcoin Merch. Every file is checked against its SHA-256 checksum in your browser before anything is written to your device.
