You will need:

  • Your DC02, its power supply, and the stand and screws
  • A phone or computer with Wi-Fi
  • Your home Wi-Fi name and password, written down exactly as they are (capital letters matter)
  • A Dogecoin wallet address (it starts with a capital D), ready to copy and paste

2. Before you start: the most common mistakes

Nearly every setup problem comes from one of five mistakes. Read this table first and your DC02 will most likely work on the first try.

Mistake

What happens

How to avoid it

Typo in the Wi-Fi name or password

The miner never connects to your Wi-Fi

Type both exactly as they appear in your phone's Wi-Fi settings or on your router, slowly, with capital letters exactly as written

Using a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network

The miner cannot connect, because the DC02 only works with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

Use your router's 2.4 GHz network. Section 5 explains what this means in plain words

Typing the Dogecoin address by hand

One wrong character makes the address invalid and the miner will not work

Copy the address from your wallet and paste it. Never type it

Using a Bitcoin or other coin address

The miner will not run correctly

Use a Dogecoin address that starts with a capital D. Addresses starting with bc1, 0x or ltc1 are not Dogecoin

Placing the miner far from the router

Wi-Fi drops or the miner shows no shares

Keep the DC02 close to your router, especially during setup

3. Safety and placement

  • Use the supplied power supply. If you use a different one, check that its output matches the label on your miner before plugging in.
  • Give it airflow. Place the miner on a flat, stable surface with open space around the fan and heatsink. Keep ventilation openings clear and dust to a minimum.
  • Keep it dry. Avoid damp or humid places, and unplug the miner before touching it or moving it.
  • Keep fingers, cables and pets away from the fan.
  • Fire or smoke: if you see smoke or smell burning, unplug the miner immediately. Do not use water on an electrical fire.

If your stand is not already attached, slide it onto the base and secure it with the included screws. On some units you may need to carefully remove the screen to reach the top screws.

4. Power on and join the setup network

On first boot the DC02 broadcasts its own temporary Wi-Fi network. You use it to tell the miner about your home network.

  1. Connect the power supply to the miner, then plug it into the wall.
  2. Wait for the display to light up. After a minute it shows a setup screen with two QR codes and instructions for connecting.
  3. On your phone or computer, open the Wi-Fi settings and join the temporary network the miner is broadcasting. Its name is shown on the miner's screen.
  4. A setup page should open on its own. If it does not, open a browser and go to 192.168.4.1.

Notes

  • If you set up with a phone, you can scan one of the QR codes on the screen instead of typing anything.
  • On a laptop or desktop, do not tick "Connect automatically" for this network.
  • If you have an ASUS router, turn off AI Protection in the router settings first. It can block devices from connecting.

5. Connect to your home Wi-Fi

The DC02 can only join a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Most routers broadcast both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so make sure you use the 2.4 GHz one.

In plain words: what is 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi comes in two kinds, a bit like two lanes on a road. The 5 GHz lane is faster but does not reach far. The 2.4 GHz lane is a little slower but reaches farther and passes through walls better. Your phone and laptop can use either lane. The DC02 only has the 2.4 GHz lane, so it can only join a 2.4 GHz network. Mining does not need a fast connection, so this does not slow it down.

Almost every home router offers both lanes. Often they share one Wi-Fi name and the router picks the right lane for each device, so you may not need to do anything. If the DC02 cannot connect, look for a second name for your Wi-Fi, usually the one without "5G" at the end, and use that one. Your router's label, its app or your internet provider can tell you the 2.4 GHz name.

Steps

  1. On the setup page, click the Net tab at the top. This is the Wi-Fi settings page.
  2. Find your home Wi-Fi network. If you see a magnifying glass, tap it to search for nearby networks. Make sure the name matches your 2.4 GHz network exactly.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password exactly as it is written on your router or in your phone's Wi-Fi settings. Capital and small letters are different, and spaces count. Type slowly and check it once before you save.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
  5. Click Restart. The miner reboots and joins your network. Give it a minute or two.

If it will not connect

  • Check for typos first. Re-enter the Wi-Fi name and password slowly.
  • Look-alike characters are easy to mix up: the number 0 and the capital letter O, and the small letter l, the capital letter I and the number 1. If your password has any of these, check it against your router label.
  • Capital letters matter. Sunshine1 and sunshine1 are different passwords.
  • Two Wi-Fi names? Choose the one that does not end in "5G".
  • Move the miner closer to the router. The DC02's Wi-Fi signal can be weak, so a short distance to the router helps a lot.
  • Reboot the miner and try again.

6. Open the dashboard

  1. Look at the miner's screen. It has two buttons. Press the one that switches between screens until you see the miner's IP address (for example 192.168.1.105). Write it down.
  2. Make sure your phone or computer is on your normal home Wi-Fi, the same network as the miner.
  3. Open a web browser and type the IP address into the address bar.
  4. The Hammer Miner dashboard opens. Check that it shows the miner as online and reporting system information.

7. Set your pool and Dogecoin address

The DC02 must use a Dogecoin pool. We recommend the Bitcoin Merch Doge pool. Your Dogecoin address goes in the username field, so any rewards are paid to you.

Get your Dogecoin address ready

  1. Open your Dogecoin wallet app on your phone or computer.
  2. Tap Receive. Check that the wallet is set to Dogecoin (DOGE).
  3. Tap the Copy button next to the address. Most wallets show a "Copied" message.
  4. If your wallet is on your phone but you are setting up the miner on a computer, send the address to yourself in an email or text message, then copy it from there.

Make sure it is a Dogecoin address

A Dogecoin address starts with a capital D and is usually 34 characters long. Addresses from other coins look different and will not work with this pool:

  • bc1, 1 or 3 is a Bitcoin address.
  • 0x is an Ethereum-style address.
  • L, M or ltc1 is a Litecoin address.
  • bitcoincash: is a Bitcoin Cash address.

If you copy a deposit address from an exchange app, pick Dogecoin and the Dogecoin network before you copy it. If you are unsure, ask your wallet or exchange which coin the address is for before you use it.

Paste it, do not type it

One wrong character makes the address invalid. Always copy and paste.

  • On a phone: touch and hold the Stratum User field, then tap Paste.
  • On a Windows computer: click the field, then press Ctrl and V together.
  • On a Mac: click the field, then press Cmd and V together.
  • After pasting, compare the first four and last four characters with your wallet, and make sure there is no space at the start or end.

Enter the pool settings

  1. On the dashboard, click the Pool tab.
  2. Fill in the fields as in the table below.
  3. Click Save, then click Restart Miner.

Field

What to enter

Stratum URL

doge.bitcoinmerch.com:3333

Stratum User

Your Dogecoin address, starting with a capital D

Password

x

Check before you save

  • The address must be a Dogecoin address that starts with D.
  • Never enter a seed phrase (the 12 or 24 recovery words) anywhere on the miner.
  • Type the Stratum URL exactly as shown, with no extra spaces.

8. Confirm it is mining

After several minutes, check the dashboard and the miner's screen:

  • Hashrate appears and settles near 105 MH/s. It moves around from second to second, so look at the longer average.
  • Shares start to be submitted and accepted. This means the pool is receiving your work.

If hashrate stays at zero, go to the troubleshooting section.

9. Troubleshooting and FAQ

Problem

Likely cause

What to try

Display stays dark

Power supply not fully connected

Reseat the power plug, try another outlet

Setup page does not open

Phone or laptop is on another network

Confirm you joined the miner's temporary network, then go to 192.168.4.1

Miner will not join Wi-Fi

Typo in Wi-Fi name or password, or a 5 GHz network

Re-enter both slowly and use your 2.4 GHz network

Wi-Fi keeps dropping

Weak signal

Move the miner closer to the router

Dashboard will not load

Phone or computer is on a different network

Join the same Wi-Fi as the miner and re-check the IP address on the miner's screen

Hashrate is zero

Pool settings wrong, or wrong coin address

Check the Stratum URL and your Dogecoin address, then save and restart

Zero shares submitted

Weak Wi-Fi or pool setting error

Move the miner closer to the router, check the pool tab, restart the miner

If Wi-Fi gives you trouble, you can plug the miner into your router with an Ethernet cable for setup, if your unit has an Ethernet port. The miner then gets an IP address from your network on its own.

FAQ

Can I mine Bitcoin with it? No. The DC02 mines Scrypt coins (Dogecoin and Litecoin). For Bitcoin you need a SHA-256 miner.

Can I use a Bitcoin or Lightning address? No. Use a Dogecoin address that starts with D.

Is it safe to leave it running 24/7? It is designed for continuous use. Follow the safety section, and unplug it at once if you see damage or smell burning.

What should I send support? Include your order number, a short description of what happens, photos of the miner and power supply, and screenshots of the dashboard and pool settings.
